The mind games among the fans of England and India ahead of the five-match Test series between the two teams have begun. England’s Barmy Army have taken the potshots at Virat Kohli and Co. 24 hours before the opening Test match in Nottingham and the Indian fans have given it back to them equally well.

Interestingly, Nottingham is the venue where India won the Test last time around when they lost the series 1-4. However, the look of the pitch 48 hours before the match wore a green look and clearly, the grass isn’t expected to be cut much before the toss. The red cherry is likely to swing much more and the Barmy Army trolled the Indian team over the same.

The official Twitter account of the England’s popular fan base posted one of the pictures of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ishant Sharma and a few others giving a serious look and termed it as, “Worried in Nottingham.”

Virat Kohli scored a ton in Nottingham on last England tour

Virat Kohli was in sensational form during the previous England tour. He had scored 97 and 103 in two innings of the third Test which was played in Nottingham. On the back of his knocks, India had scored 329 and 352//7d and defeated England by a huge margin of 203 runs.

Responding to the Barmy Army troll, the fans were quick to remind them about Virat Kohli’s performance at the venue three years ago. Hardik Pandya had also picked a five-wicket haul with the ball in the first innings playing a crucial role in bundling England out for 161 runs.

Meanwhile, team India is grappled with injuries ahead of the 1st Test. Mayank Agarwal was ruled out of the game due to concussion on Monday and it remains to be seen if Abhimanyu Easwaran opens the innings or KL Rahul gets a chance to prove himself at the top of the order again.

Meanwhile, there was a battle of words between England and India fans over the Barmy Army’s latest tweet and clearly the latter group wasn’t going to tone down after the earlier troll.

Here are some of the reactions:
