Vivo IPL 2021: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has found itself in another problem as the South African cricketers are unlikely to take part in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).  The second half of the IPL 2021 is all set to get underway in the UAE, starting September 19.

The South African cricketers are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka for the limited-overs series in September. The three ODIs and three T20I matches tour will be wrapped on September 12. Due to the travel restrictions and ban on international flights from various countries, BCCI will have to figure out to bring the players with bubble to bubble transfer. 

As of now, Sri Lanka is on the red list of the UAE government and the flights are banned due to the covid protocols. If players are not brought with charter flights, they will surely miss the beginning portion of the IPL 2021 in the UAE. A similar kind of arrangement will be required for the Caribbean players who will be playing CPL until September 15.

It can be said that a huge responsibility to bring in players from different countries is on the shoulders of the BCCI. If the board fails to do that, IPL might not see the success it usually gets during its operations.

BCCI is also closely working with England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to find out some ways to bring the English players into the lucrative league. In the recent meeting of BCCI and ECB, the officials spoke about the smooth transfer of players in the second phase of the IPL 2021.

It is noteworthy that ECB has earlier declared that their national cricketers will not take part in the IPL 2021 in the UAE due to their bilateral commitments. Moreover, the bubble life has taken a toll on the mental health of the cricketers and the ECB has prioritised it.

Recently, celebrated all-rounder, Ben Stokes announced an indefinite break from cricket to work on his mental well being.
