It has been reported that Rahul Dravid praised the efforts of the SL team.
India and Sri Lanka and are facing each other in the white-ball series currently where the visiting Indian side bagged the ODI series 2-1 and has won the opening T20I game too. In the same light of events, a picture of Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka and Indian head coach Rahul Dravid talking on-field during the third ODI turned many heads.
Many speculated what head coach Dravid might have been telling the hosts’ skipper. However, in the latest turn of events, Shanaka opened up on what Dravid told him. It has been reported that Dravid praised him for his captaincy and stated that everyone’s effort in the Lanka team has been praiseworthy. Dravid also stated that the way Lankans improved in the series was commendable after their recent dismal form.
“You are leading the side very well. The entire team is praiseworthy,” Rahul told Shanaka as per a report in themorning.lk.
“Dravid had told Shanaka that India had been ‘surprised’ by the much-improved Sri Lanka side while also conceding that they were outplayed on Tuesday in the second ODI, which Sri Lanka lost after a close fight,” the report further added.

It has to be noted that India were not in the winning position during the 2nd ODI and were down at 193/7 before pacer Deepak Chahar unfolded his magic. He built a sturdy partnership with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and played an unbeaten knock of 69 runs. India won the series after winning the 2nd ODI and lost the third ODI in hands of hosts where men in blue fielded their five debutants.

It was further reported that Dravid praised the unity in the SL team and stated that it is the most important factor without which no team can succeed. “There is improvement in the team unity and without that, you can never win,” said Dravid.
After being up in the T20I series against Sri Lanka, the second T20I will take place on 27the July, Tuesday in Colombo.
