‘I ask this question again’

In the first Test between England and India, the rain played a massive part as the match had to be halted. The former England skipper Nasser Hussain has thus opened up about the match timings for Tests in England. He stated that flexible timings should be brought in for the game. Rain interrupted the match on Day 2 and 3 of the ongoing first Test and spoiled the contest.

The teams have lost a total of 105 overs over these two days and only 16 overs can be regained by rescheduling the sessions on the remaining two days. Nasser Hussain feels that the match should start half an hour earlier than the scheduled time. Currently, the start for the Test match is 11:00 AM local time and Hussain pointed that instead of extending the time during the close of the play, the match can be started early on.

He took it to Twitter to express about the same as he brought up his older tweet and put the question of rescheduling the game in fore. The weather and bad light have often affected the matches in England. Thus, many Twitter users commented on the tweet expressing concern over slow over rate and the weather. Nasser Hussain wrote, “With rain forecast later at Trent Bridge I ask this question again?”

Before Nasser Hussain, Dinesh Karthik too had tweeted about weather

Earlier in the day, Dinesh Karthik had tweeted about the weather conditions of Nottingham. “Looks like rain will again play the role of spoiler today. #ENGvIND” he had tweeted. The India batter has been doing this since the World Test Championship final and his followers on Twitter have been yearning for updates from him. He seems to be enjoying his stint with the mic and has brought a fresh approach to the task. The cricketing fraternity has also praised Karthik for his commentating and broadcasting duties.

About the England-India series, the Indian team was bundled up by the hosts on day 3 for 278. Ravindra Jadeja played an impressive knock by hitting a half-century for the team. The cricket enthusiasts were all excited for the high-profile clash and would be wishing that the rain and weather wouldn’t further interrupt the game. India need 157 more runs to win the game on Day 5.
