Wasim Jaffer shares a hilarious ‘Mirzapur’ meme as Sam Curran states his CSK mates ‘enemies’ during Test series

Indian Premier League has created an environment where players from different nationalities come and play together. Before the IPL, international cricketers never really engaged with each other because of the fierce rivalry and so much at stake. The equation has changed a bit. In the ongoing England and India series, there will be some of these relationships in focus. 

Sam Curran, who plays for the Chennai Super Kings, has admitted that he shares a good bond with his teammates, Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur. However, during the Test series, there won’t be any love shown by either of the parties. Wasim Jaffer, the former Indian cricketer, didn’t miss this opportunity to share a meme on this topic on his Twitter profile.

The incident started with ESPNCricinfo sharing a quote of Sam Curran in which he spoke about the relationship within the CSK dressing room. He admitted he is quite friendly with Jadeja and Thakur. “There are a couple of guys I got friendly with at the IPL, but come the series, they’ll obviously be enemies. They are really nice guys that I played with at Chennai and there’s a few I look forward to seeing,” Curran said. 

Sam Curran has been part of the CSK franchise for two seasons, where he has got the desired success and has been one of the more regular players in this team during the course of the 2020 and 2021 seasons of the IPL.

Jaffer took an opportunity to reply to this tweet with a meme. In that meme, he had made a collage from the screenshots of a famous Indian web series on Amazon Prime Video, Mirzapur. In the collage, it was depicted that in August and September and then again in October and November (when the T20 World Cup will be played), Thakur, Jadeja, and Curran will be on each other’s throats. 

However, for the September-October period, Jaffer used a behind the scene image from the same where the actors who fight against each other in the premise of the show can be seen together in a jolly mood. The meme summed up the kind of camaraderie these three CSK players will be having for the next few months, in the most accurate way.
