If not for the contributions from Mitchell Marsh and Moises Henriques with the willow, the Aussies would have not even crossed the 100-run mark.

A collective batting effort by the Bangladesh willow wielders helped them beat the Australian side in the 2nd T20I at Dhaka. As many as four Bangladesh batsmen went past the 20-run mark to help their side beat the Aussies with 5 wickets to spare.

In pursuit of a target of 122, the Bangladesh side was rocked early and was reduced to 21/2. The Hasan duo then steadied the ship for the hosts with the willow. While the experienced Shakib Al Hasan scored a quick 26 off 17 deliveries, Mahedi Hasan scored a sedate 24-ball 23.

Afif Hossain and Nurul Hasan then applied the finishing touches for the Bangladeshi Tigers. The two stitched together a match-winning partnership of 56 runs and did not flinch when faced with adversity. While Afif Hossain top-scored for his country and scored 37* off 31 deliveries, Nurul Hasan scored a handy 22*.

On the bowling front, Ashton Agar produced a good performance with the ball for the Aussies. He bowled 4 overs, gave away only 17 runs, and also picked up the wicket of Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah.

Mitchell Marsh and Moises Henriques help Australia post a total of 121/7

For Australia, only two willow wielders stood up and contributed. Mitchell Marsh produced a repeat of his performance from the first T20I and scored a 42-ball 45 for the kangaroos. He was supported by Moises Henriques, who scored 30 off 25 deliveries.

The rest of the Australian batting lineup wilted away, and none of the other batsmen from the Australian side could even cross the 15-run mark. And, if not for the contributions from Marsh and Henriques, the Aussies would have not even crossed the 100-run mark.

For Bangladesh, the pick of the bowlers was Mustafizur Rahman. The left-arm seamer picked up 3 wickets in the 4 overs that he bowled, and gave away just 23 runs as well. Apart from Rahman, Shoriful Islam scalped a couple of wickets as well.

Now, the Bangladesh side has taken a 2-0 lead in the series. And, if they win the third rubber that will take place on 6th August 2021, they will seal the five-match T20I series.
