The pitch got tougher to bat in the first game and it isn’t expected to behave any different in the second match.

Preview

Bangladesh and Australia are set to lock horns in the second game of the five-match series on Wednesday, August 4 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The first game on Tuesday turned out to be a memorable one for the Tigers, who won their maiden T20I over the power-packed Aussies.

Bangladesh won the game by 23 runs after Nasum Ahmed’s match-winning spell. The visitors were bowled out for 108 after being asked to chase down 132. Yet another time, Mitchell Marsh played a lone hand for Australia, whose batting looked terribly short of firepower in the opening encounter.

Pitch Report

The pitch in Dhaka turned out to be a spinner’s paradise in Tuesday’s game. Run-making wasn’t easy by any stretch of the imagination. Batting won’t get any easier as the match progresses. Hence, batting first should be the way forward for both teams.

Probable best batsman of the match

Mitchell Marsh– Australia

Mitchell Marsh has been outstanding for the Aussies at No.3, though the team has failed collectively. In the West Indies, he became the leading run-scorer with three half-centuries, but Australia slumped to a 1-4 defeat. Even in the first T20I, he scored 45 at a run-a-ball. To his dismay, the right-handed batter didn’t get any support from the others.

Probable best bowler of the match

Nasum Ahmed- Bangladesh

Nasum Ahmed was exceptional in the opening T20I as he became the Player of the Match. The left-arm spinner picked up four wickets, conceding a mere 19 runs in four overs at an economy rate of 4.80. The tweaker accounted for the wickets of Josh Philippe, Marsh, Matthew Wade and Ashton Agar. He will again be looking to put forth an impressive show.

Today’s match prediction: The team, batting first to win the match.
