Washington Sundar has let his thoughts known on Twitter about missing such an important series against England.

Washington Sundar was initially picked in the Indian Test squad for the challenging and hugely anticipated five-match Test series against England. The Tamil Nadu player sustained an injury during the warm-up fixture between India and Select County XI.

Sundar suffered a finger injury in the warm-up match, and as a result, will have to return back to India and will not take part in the series. And, Sundar has let his thoughts known on Twitter about missing such an important series against England.

The 21-year-old tweeted that it is ‘hard’ to be missing out on the Test series against England and returning back. He also thanked everyone for their good wishes.

“Hard to be missing out and going back. A big thank you for all your good wishes for my recovery!,” tweeted Sundar.

Washington Sundar has contributed significantly for India in his short Test career

In his short Test career that has lasted just 4 Test matches, the Indian all-rounder has contributed significantly with the willow for his country. Sundar’s Test match debut was at The Gabba in Brisbane against the Australian side, and the left-hander was impressive with the willow in his first outing in Tests.

He scored a crucial 62 in the first innings and followed that up with a quick 22 in the second innings. Sundar continued his impressive show with the bat in the Test series against England at home as well. The left-hander plundered 181 runs in the 4 innings that he played against England at home earlier this year, and scored his runs at an average of 90.50.

He also scored two glorious fifties against Joe Root and his men as well. In fact, his sensational 96* against England in the 4th Test match and his 113-run stand with Rishabh Pant allowed India to come out of troubled waters. The Indian side was tottering at 146/6, but Sundar’s excellent knock ensured that India scored 365 runs in their first innings, and defeated England by an innings and 25 runs in the final rubber.
