Cricket is one of the most followed sports all over the world and it is a fact that it attracts a huge bunch of audience. The sport, however, is incomplete without its ardent fans and followers. It is both their punching bag as well as a calming pillow for the fans and they cannot keep calm when it comes to cheering and supporting their team. And when it comes to spotting fans in the stadium one can certainly not forget the name of Sarim Akhtar who has been the subject of many memes around the internet for a long now.

The packed stadiums that exude electrifying atmospheres often pump up the players as well. Though the fans celebrate the win, the loss certainly disappoints them. The man with both hands on his waist and disappointment all over his face has been making rounds on the social media platforms in varied memes and seems to never get old. Sarim Akhtar now has been featured in the Hong Kong Meme Museum. He took it to Twitter to share the Youtube clip about the same. He tweeted: “My sister found the video of the Hongkong K11 museum of memes on YouTube, scroll to 0.37 sec.”

He also posted the image that is been displayed in the museum wherein the caption of the meme plate is: “Disappointed Fan. The photo features a disappointing cricket fan, Muhammad Sarim Akhtar.” As known to all this picture of Sarim is from Pakistan vs Australia ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match which Australia won and Akhtar expressed his disappointment on it. Hong Kong’s meme museum features seven themed zones with viral and hilarious memes from across the world.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) had celebrated the second anniversary of this meme on  June 12, 2021. ICC shared the video on the Twitter handle to recount the incident. The tweet read“12th June 2019, @cricketworldcup possibly the greatest #OnThisDay ever.”

Over the course of time, Akhtar has been the face of many memes and the people all over had created some really fascinating content on the same. In the year 2020 Akhtar also featured in a video that was shared by the PCB ahead of the England series. He was seen motivating the Pakistani players in the video.
